BROW LIFTING
BROW LIFTING - FOREHEAD LIFT - TEMPORAL LIFT
Brow lifting surgery repositions the eyebrows on the forehead. Since our eyebrows are located in the forehead and temple (the side of the forehead) regions, these procedures can be performed as a single operation. Ultimately, all tissues are lifted upward and laterally to enhance the appearance of the upper face.
REASONS FOR THE PROCEDURE
With aging and the effects of gravity, the eyebrows and the tissues beneath them begin to sag. Additionally, due to bone resorption and the reduction of soft tissues in this area, there may be a drooping over the upper eyelid. Sagging eyebrows create a tired and sad expression. In some patients, this issue is a structural problem independent of aging. Due to genetic factors, the outer edges of the eyebrows being lower than the inner edges can create an undesirable appearance. Therefore, these surgeries can also be performed at a young age to correct this condition.
SURGICAL METHODS
There are three different methods for brow lifting: thread lifting, open method, and endoscopic method. The endoscopic technique is currently the most preferred modern brow lifting technique due to its permanence and lack of visible scars.
ENDOSCOPIC BROW LIFT AND FOREHEAD LIFT
Endoscopic brow lift surgery is performed through 4-5 small incisions, each a few centimeters long, made within the hairline. In this method, the scars are hidden within the hair. The procedure aims to elevate the forehead area and naturally lift the brows upward and to the sides.
For an endoscopic brow lift/forehead lift surgery, the patient should not have significant hair loss, as it would be difficult to conceal the scars otherwise. Additionally, this method is not very suitable for patients with a very broad forehead. When the forehead is elevated with this surgery, the hairline will recede further, making the forehead appear even larger. For such patients, a FOREHEAD REDUCTION surgery is a more appropriate option. In forehead reduction surgery, skin is removed from the hairline, leaving a scar along this line. The appearance of this scar can vary from person to person. In some patients, the scar heals inconspicuously, while in others, it may be more noticeable. Forehead reduction results in a younger-looking face. The hairline is moved forward, and the brows are lifted, making the upper face area more attractive.
ANESTHESIA METHOD AND DURATION
The procedure is performed under general anesthesia in a hospital setting. The operation takes approximately 1–2 hours.
RECOVERY PROCESS
Depending on the type of surgery, the patient is discharged on the same day or the next day. Bruising and swelling may occur for 1-2 weeks. With your doctor's approval, you can take a bath 2 days after discharge and return to work in 3-5 days at the earliest.
Lip Aesthetics (Labiaplasty)
Lip Aesthetics (labiaplasty)
Having plump and smooth lips, one of the most important elements that complement the beauty of the face, is essential for attractiveness, femininity, and overall beauty. Beautiful lips are a privilege that every woman would want. Therefore, it is possible to make your lip structure more ideal, whether it changes structurally or due to aging, and to make overly plump or irregularly shaped lips more aesthetic.
Why Is Lip Aesthetics Performed?
Lip aesthetics is preferred to enhance the facial beauty of women with thin or overly plump lips. As a result, the shape of the lips becomes clearer while preserving their natural look. Additionally, wrinkles on the lips and lines that become smaller with age can be restored. The vibrancy and quality of your lip tissues can be improved by stimulating collagen production in the lip tissue. Lips are dynamic structures, and excessive lip movements can be reduced with these methods. In cases where your palate is excessively stretched and your palate appears too much, different methods can limit your lip movements and eliminate complaints.
What are the Types of Lip Aesthetics?
Lip aesthetic operations can be grouped into three main categories: volume-increasing methods, volume reduction methods, and methods that address the lip-palate relationship. These include filling with foreign materials or the person's own tissues, reshaping the lips surgically, and changing the way one smiles.
- 1. Volume Increasing Methods: These include injections of synthetic fillers, using the person's own tissues, or placing a silicone implant (permalip). It is not a method of injecting liquid silicone into the lips or any other area. Although it is often referred to as silicone injection in common parlance, filling materials are not liquid silicone. Liquid silicone injections should not be applied as they cause serious problems. The aim of all these methods is to make the lips fuller without losing their natural appearance.
- 2. Volume Reduction Methods: Two basic techniques are applied. The first is to reduce the fleshy part of the lip with incisions made through the mouth. The second method is to reduce the upper lip distance, which is applied to people with a long nose-to-lip distance. Since the scars left after these operations are hidden in the lower border of the nose and in the mouth, they do not disturb patients.
- 3. Methods That Address the Lip-Palate Relationship: These involve changing the lip shape while smiling. They are applied when the lip movement is more upward than sideways or when the upper palate is long. Although this may seem very sympathetic to some people (like Kemal Sunal), it is not preferred by most. This includes Botox or muscle manipulation operations to reduce the upward movement of the lip and orthodontic operations to shorten the palate. For orthodontic operations, the plastic surgeon must work in coordination with an orthodontic maxillofacial dentist.
Anaesthesia Method
General or regional anaesthesia is applied depending on the technique of the operation to be performed. In some procedures that do not require surgical intervention, even regional anaesthesia may not be necessary.
Healing Process after Lip Aesthetics
The lips are one of the most sensitive parts of our body. It is common to experience bruising and swelling after the operation, as they swell easily and have a large amount of blood circulation. In 7-10 days, bruising and swelling will disappear.
